Significant drops in sexual or physical connections are often due to a lack of emotionnal intimacy. Meaning; an environment in which each partner feels loved, encouraged, supported and appreciated for who he/she is.

From very early on, children bond with their parents and learn by observing and soaking their respective energies. Consequently, the wounds and lacks we experience as children may produce different types of attachment; secure, anxious, avoidant, and disorganized. Those carry on in our relationships and influence the way we communicate our needs and offer/request comfort and affection.
My approach
My intervention will then be to explore with you ways to manage possible attachment conflicts, unmet needs and better ways to communicate them. The goal being to help you restore intimacy, mutual contribution and appreciation, as well as a stronger connection that is fulfilling for both!
Teaching you techniques to re-parent yourself might also be beneficial in meeting some of your own needs by yourself. This can alleviate some of the tensions created by unmet needs that rely too much on your partner. It can also help both of you to develop a greater sense of reciprocal contribution.

Attachment styles influence our relationship’s dynamic, themselves influenced by the models that were mom and dad. This duality is expressed in different predispositions, strengths, roles, and needs. When complementing each other, those give partners the feeling of contentment and positive contribution to the partnership and the children’s upbringing.
Nowadays, we are witnessing many upheavals in traditional roles and value systems. However, some predispositions remain fundamentaly hardwired. It is therefore important to keep them in mind, while looking to complement each other in the roles we take on. This gives partners the feeling of receiving as much as they give. In addition, it helps to avoid certain role reversals that could lead to irritants and unmet needs on both sides.
Embodying our respective energies can truly support the healthy changes we wish to bring in the way we connect and bond as a couple.
